Hello all. Long time, no chat, eh? I suppose I could say that the hiatus is officially over. I have returned with a new layout. Much fresher, cleaner, and summery than the last. Have a suggestion for the title? Please let me know for I cannot think of a nice and fitting one myself.

I am rather proud of this layout. I picked the image with a designer's mentality, noticing that the basic flowers in the image could be recreated and utilized. Not to mention the image itself is Chobits; such cute artwork! I would like to thank Tiffany who was a huge inspiration to me while creating this layout.

School is finally over and for now, I am out of work. This means that I will have plenty of time to work around the site. I am so glad for this time I finally have.

Updates around the site include pruning of the PNGs section (it was lacking and I do not see myself adding to it any time soon) and the Anime Tutorials (I should say tutorial, as there was only one). Also pruned was the two Photoshop tutorials. However, those have been replaced with a Star Field Tutorial and a Light Spiral Tutorial, for your viewing pleasure. In the tutorial department, I have also updated the Basic HTML Tutorial, to cover a wider range of codes. I will be adding two new tutorials in that section at a later date, so stay tuned.

Graphical updates include a hiatus sign and a signature. I have no intention of keeping the graphical update this small, so please check back for more later. I really do love my new signature though. Very proud of it.

All pages have been recoded to match the current layout. I decided to knock it out in one night so I could not choose to put it off until the next new layout.

Please enjoy the new updates and do come back again for more. It is summer time now and I plan to break no promises.

So, in the words of a best friend, Moonflame has been quite like a plane without gas. It just sits here. And, though I do resent this fact, I am unable to find the time of day to update properly.

Honestly, whenever I feel as though I'm in a 'graphic-designing-mood,' I'm incapable of finding appropriate pictures to design with. Thus, I lose my initiative as quickly as I had gained it and a strong sense of lethargy kicks in.

Now, I would love to kick the sense, and maybe recapture some proper sleeping habits so I could develop the time, however, my lack of willpower somehow destroys the very desire to do any of the aforementioned things.

Don't get me wrong. I have absolutely no intention of closing down the site. Three years, not all strong, but heck if I'll deny it. Moonflame is my pride and joy, one thing I refuse to discontinue.

Some time is all I ask, though I know the three months that have passed seem like plenty. Some time to get the site back on its feet, with a fresh new layout and more graphics than I have ever provided before (and this includes Neopets graphics, as well).

So, although I hate to say it, and I don't hate much, I will be putting Moonflame Designs on an open hiatus. I refuse to close it down and stick a hiatus sign up only because I do have some graphics, and good or bad, someone may wish to use them.

I'm sorry for my inactivity and my lack of communication with my affiliates, who continue to update, often or not. I appreciate your tolerance with my absence thus far. However, if you feel as though you no longer wish to keep me as one of your affiliates, I understand completely.

This hiatus should last until the end of the school year, maybe even before once my load of work dies down.

By the way, you will find a new bookmark and signature are up on the site. They were a few odds and ends I have been working on. I may update with a sign sometime during the week because I do have one waiting to be finished, as well as a layout. As for said layout, you can see it in progress here. If you have any suggestions for font style and placement of navigation, I'm all ears. . or eyes. I can't think of much to finish the layout, so some ideas would be great to hear. Thanks again.

Oh, and I guess I updated the Past Layouts section, too. I think the previous three layouts I have had are now added.

And, I introduce to you Moonflame's 18th version, Sky's the Limit. Totally not the colours for which I was reaching. Nonetheless, they're pretty congruous and not completely blinding. Still, if the next layout I make isn't dark, well.. I actually don't have a good threat or anything. I just hope the next one is dark.

Anyway.. This layout should prove to be a pain in my neck for about another hour or so (mind you, it is now 4:00 AM). I need to go through and switch each table code out with the new one. This process is about as much fun as a box of starving and rabid poodles (translation = it's serious business).

But, besides the arduous coding I'll be doing, I rather like the turnout of this layout. I hope you feel the same way.

I had originally planned the release of this layout to include some fancy-pants, new graphics, however, I found that the longer I waited to put this layout up, the more I started to dislike it. I would like to have this layout up for at least two weeks before I hate it.

Of course, this does mean that there are no new graphics. Except, I do think there is a new hiatus sign.

I've been in quite a rut, graphics-wise. But, really--honestly, what else is new? I know I use that excuse all of the time and I'm really sorry for it. But, everything I've made recently just isn't me. I refuse to upload a graphic I dislike. So, hopefully, I can brew up some new graphics and have them uploaded as soon as I finish recoding this baby.

On a much more pleasant note, I would just like to ask any of my guild members reading this to check the General Discussion forum. There's a poll that could use your vote there~

Also, I'm sorry about being inactive. School has had me up to my elbows in work. I'm so glad we're starting a new semester. Hopefully, I can make things right this time.

For now, enjoy the new layout, and look forward to new graphics. I promise they're coming.

VERSION EIGHTEEN FUN FACT: Do you see the tan blob with the mini-paragraph of text atop it in the main image? I had to add those because without them, the blobs of colour below them formed a shape that looked way too much like the silhouette of Lloyd Irving from the game, Tales of Symphonia. At first, I had thought of the small illusion as 'cool,' but it soon began to bug me. I had to do something to patch it up.

Edit: Site and Guild sections have been fully recoded, despite the fact that 'Contact Us' and 'About' don't have any content (I'll get that up soon, too). I just need to go through Graphics and Resources and change those codes.. Also, a new signature~

Once I release our newest version, you will find that I am no longer providing avatars. I will be replacing them with new content such as mood sign sets (which will be explained), ID cards, and MySpace layouts. Please note that said MySpace layouts may not work with the newest version, by the way.

I'm doing this simply because I'm tired of avatars. I don't consider them graphics anymore (and that's my opinion on MY avatars. Please do not take offense from my statement). They take me an hour to make (and that's just one) and I dislike them the next day. They're a waste of my time. Therefore, I will not offer them anymore. Maybe I will reopen an avatars section later in the future.

So, please do expect an update soon (a real one). I have been really busy with school work, such as designing a school and filling out a literary journal. Nonetheless, I have caught up on all of my work and am designing new graphics now. Also, finals are over (basically), so no more cramming for me.

I apologize to my affiliates who continue to update. I will be around to visit you all shortly.

I guess it wasn't a good idea for me to taunt the spam bots because now they're trashing up my shoutbox with their obscene links and ridiculous usernames, for example: "eBookThief." How do you steal an eBook? They're free! You can't even purchase them, just read them online. Hence the name, "eBook." Anyway, until I can find a way to fix this problem, I'll just manually delete the spam.

Oh, um, my absence.. Well, I can definitely blame school and (rant) officially, as of 12.19.2008, I am no longer trying to be smart. I studied my mathematics textbook for a quiz we took today for two and a half hours last night. Our teacher timed us, giving us only thirty minutes to complete the quiz. I completed three problems. There were ten questions. I am getting a thirty on that quiz. Goodbye 4.0 GPA~

I'm tired of being timed! I don't care if there are deadlines in work when I'm older! No matter what you're doing, you should take your time and do it right!

Besides, when I'm in work with deadlines, I'll deal with it then. Same goes for being grouped with people I hate. This is my youth. Allow me to process information at my own speed. Stop trying to cram all of this information into our heads all at once! I don't care if every other country is way far ahead of our educational expectations. We're not every other country. We're America. And, we're not too slow. They're just going fast. Stop calling America lazy! (/rant)

..Sorry about that. Anyway, there's a new bookmark. I should have some more things up later on, if not tonight, then tomorrow.

I also had a graphics block so, I guess I can blame that for my absence too. But really, it's my fault. (rant) Just like how it's my fault that I want to thoroughly complete my work at my own pace. And a little bit like how I don't understand the chapter we're completing in math.

Come and get me now spambots! Oh, wait, that's right, you can't! I've tried everything to stop them and finally I think I've found the right way to do it. I did try captcha, however, I had no luck. Fortunately, I found a code (or, multiple codes, I should say) that requires typing in one specific word in order to comment. I figured it would be less of an inconvenience for visitors, too, because, sometimes, even I can't read those captchas..

Anyway, school has had me swamped, unfortunately. So, I don't actually have a real update.. just thought I would make a triumphant post about how I think I fixed the spam problem..

Good evening everyone and welcome to version seventeen, Gold Rush~ I hope it tickles your fancy because this layout has taken me quite a lot of time and effort. The coding was complex, there are plenty of images, and I can't find a stupid cross browser iframe transparency code! Which reminds me, for all of those who know me as a Firefox hater, I coded this layout in Firefox. Much to my discontent, I might add. But, it works great in both browsers, either way (1024x768, preferred). However, the fact that the transparency code I did manage to find only worked in IE fuels the fire of hatred I have for Firefox.

I just love the spell check Firefox does for you. Great for typos when I role-play.

Moving along, I know (and you may virtually shoot me because of it) that the navigation takes a while to start working (if you haven't noticed by now, you can navigate with the frames). That's why I added the alt hovers. But, boy oh boy, once the hover images work, the navigation is so fun to hover over~ So, I hope you enjoy that as well.

Graphic wise, I have but a simple avatar:



It kind of matches the layout~ Anyway, enjoy the new layout and the rest of your weekend. I should hope to update with new graphics soon if not right away.

Halloween is fast approaching, and, to my annoyance, I managed to get sick over the week of Moonflame's anniversary. D: We are now three years old (as of October 21st). I am so very proud. Anyway, I am excited to announce that we will be throwing a Halloween/ Birthday bash in the guild on Saturday, November 1st. There will be plenty of forum games and avatar art and custom profile giveaways. We will also hold designing, drawing, and writing contests and maybe some role-plays while we are at. Well, we should be doing these things as long as our members can make it. Only those present will be entered in the giveaways. Sadly, the contests are without gald/ item prizes because Renezmee and I have yet to start our avatar art shop and get some cash. Anyway, I hope to see everyone on Saturday and have a fabulous Halloween weekend. I should be returning with a graphic gift closer to Halloween. :wink1:

Well, if you thought being sick was good for nothing, you were right~

Ugh, I've been out of school all week and have so much work I need to catch up on. Anyway, one would assume that my being out all week made time for me to make graphics. That's a fabulous assumption. But, I wasn't allowed to do anything! Rest, rest, rest. D: And no steps. And, I'm not aloud to pick up and kiss my cuddly doggies. Being sick is most certainly good for nothing! Not to mention the fact that for about two-thirds of this past week, I could not breathe! It was terrible.. I couldn't sleep either.

However, I am feeling much better now and thus I have found time to create some new graphics and the like. This update is actually a big one, considering my usual updates. cx

Firstly, I have created one new avatar:



I was trying for that style that everybody except for me can do right. D8 I didn't quite hit the mark, but I like the avatar, so, I guess I didn't fail too hard.

Secondly, I have finally made a bookmark. It had been waiting in my quota to be made and I finally got around to doing it. I really like this one. c:

Next, I have created a new website layout (just in time for Halloween, too). I love it so much~! But, I only love it that much because of the image map. I've never done image mapping before and I surprised that it's that easy to do. Go check it out~

Also, in my last update, I said I made a welcome sign I didn't like. Well, I went ahead and replaced it with one I like much better. c: Still Halloween themed.

Finally, I have made a new Paint Shop Pro tutorial. It teaches you the dither effect, an old personal favourite of mine. Makes for a fancy graphic.

Site wise, I have finally put the playlist back up. Took me forever, again. This time, however, I have added another, more organized playlist. Both are up here if you wish to listen to them.

Anyway, still on my new and improved quota are the following tasks:

Okay, I know this update didn't make much sense earlier. I ranted the first time I posted this and after I got over most of what I ranted about, I deleted it all.

Anyway, update wise, I did upload a signature and welcome sign. However, I think I'll be deleting the welcome sign. I'm too unsure about it.

Hello all~ Happy Saturday, although it's not very happy because that means only one more day before the school week. I hate to say it, but school has become a burden on my personal time and thus I no longer enjoy it. ):< *rambles on about how much school sucks*

So anyway, on the topic of updates, I have an update. xc I have made one new Gaia profile out of another one of Aki-Mono's fabulous PNGs. You can see a live preview of it, for now, here.

I decided I would code it in Mozilla Firefox and when I went to view it in IE, it looked terrible. ..So, being the IE fan that I am, I changing everything so that it would look great in IE. It still looks.. okay in Firefox, but not as great as in IE. (I know. That was a terrible thing for me to do. cx)

Also, my affiliate, Ruriko, has moved to a new domain and has also changed her site name. Please visit her new site, Aesthetic Illusion. The layout is very cute. :cheer:

So, it's true. I do have a few odds and ends for you all today. None are very graphic orientated. I apologize. School has been hectic. If I ever do start babysitting again, I'm not sure I could even handle that..

So, firstly, I would like to introduce our newest affiliate. I know I closed the application, but I applied to become their affiliate (cause I've always wanted to and I finally got the chance). Thankfully, I was accepted. So, with no further ranting, I will now introduce our newest affiliate. Please welcome, Anime Requiem! If you didn't already know, Anime Requiem is a beautiful website that provides Neopets, Gaia, and regular website graphics. All of Rinoa's work is high quality so I suggest you give her website a visit.

Now, I would like to say that I finally got off of my lazy bum and decided to create an affiliate 'in depth' page. (You know, the one I promised like.. a month and a half ago?) Well, feel free to visit that page and read up on all of my amazing affiliates. They deserve the love.

So, if you haven't already noticed, there is no longer a strike through the 'Gaia Profiles' section of the site. Why is this? Because I finally made a profile! *scattered applause* I like it very much, in Internet Explorer. It's almost flawless. Mozilla, well, that's another story entirely. One I'm afraid I don't want to tell. No, considering, it doesn't look really terrible on Mozilla. Just a few colour errors. If you would like to see the layout in action, and not just a small preview of it, click here. It can't promise you it will be on that account for long, but for now, you can still see it. Hi~ So, I should have a well prepared excuse for my absence of.. thirty-eight days. Well, I don't.. I had school and a huge graphic designing block. Not very well prepared, right? cx

But, um, there's a new layout. c: It's titled Strawberry Temptation because the girl looks like she's about to eat the strawberries in her hand. But she doesn't.

I really love this layout. It took me a little over two days to complete and I am very happy with the result. I've already changed all of the pages to match the new layout's format and cutenews matches, too.

Now, onto even better news. I finally figured out the date in which Moonflame (or, xThe_Hidden_Anime_LairX, at the time) was created (and I've gained an even stronger love for Freewebs). October 21st, 2005. That'll make us three in about a month. I'm extremely excited for the anniversary. Gasp~ I should have a birthday bash in the guild~ *jots down ideas*

And, worse news to even everything out. My counter reset itself~ My perfect little plain PHP counter reset itself. I think I'll just go without a counter. It's too much trouble. :c

So, um, hopefully, I can edit in some new graphic editions today before school tomorrow. I believe my quota is almost completed.

Guess what everyone? I've made progress with the Gaia layouts! Other than some small variations that need fixing, my newest Gaia layout looks amazing: see it here. It took a lot of work, but I think it looks pretty great. I'm confident enough to start making Gaia layouts for visitors now. So, you can expect some of those, a finished quota, and a new layout for MFD soon. :cheer:

Hello all and I hope you are enjoying your Thursday. I know I am not. Just kidding. It could be worse. I could be babysitting later today.

Okay, so, new addition time. I have a new layout. *applause* Okay, maybe not. But, anyway, you can find it here. I think it's an all right layout. Once again, it's out of my comfort zone.. But, who cares nowadays? Um. I don't know much about Naruto, so the layout may not be relative. But, it was for a contest with a particulary challenging theme. Multiple Identities and Split Personalities. I haven't entered yet, as I have an avatar and a button to make still. But, I think the layout could pass as enter-able.

Anyway, I have updated the staff page because.. I was rather bored. It has a lot of new information about.. me if you feel up to reading it. LOL. I was just that bored. ): Not trying to be self-centered. But, I had to create a wallpaper and banner to go along with that layout and I'm pretty wiped. Especially since I fail at wallpapers. But, it's too bad I don't offer them (or banners) here. I kind of liked this wallpaper.

Other than that, I haven't got anything else to update with. I threw in an edit on the last update which included a signature and an avatar, but you may've already seen those. I'm still working on the quota, but I got caught up with that contest.

Yayness. Moonflame now has nine affiliates. And with that, I officially close affiliation. Nine is a huge amount of affiliates, for me anyway, 'cause I'm used to having four, lol. Anyway, allow me to introduce our newest three:

Honey Skies Honey Skies is a really stunning website run by Marie. Her layout is seriously creative like all of her content. She has a lot of well designed icons as well as small graphics like signatures and the like.

Shanghai.Doll Shanghai.Doll is a great icon resource. The webmisstress, Arisu, is an extremely talented icon designer. Her main layout is equally as great. I definitely think her website is worth a visit.

Starless Designs Starless Designs is run by Tiffany. Tiffany designs the way I've always dreamed of designing. I admire her work and I'm so glad she accepted my request.

I think I might make an, 'in depth,' page for my affiliates. I'm really excited to get to know them and watch their sites grow.

About affiliation.. If you did happen to apply before I removed the application, I will still consider your site. :wink1:



Okay, now onto graphics. I have been updating lately, so please excuse the absenceof a graphical update today. Once I finish that quota, I'm going to open requests and start a brand new layout. So, uhm, look forward to that.. I guess. Sorry, I know I pretty much failed.

EDIT2: Too much editing. I have good affiliate news and very, very bad affiliate news. Bad news first.

Arche closed down Spirit Serenade. She says she may create a new webpage sometime in the later future. We can only hope that she will do just that. I'm gonna' miss her site. Hopefully, we'll still keep in contact over Gaia. Now, good news to cheer us up.

In losing one affiliate, we've gained two. Lurking Fool of Dark Jest and Ruriko of Digital Revolution have joined our family. They both run very great sites, so visit them if you can. You won't regret it. :wink1:

Haha. I just got done watching the third season of Charmed (for like, the fifth time). That show is the greatest. The title is a quote from the episode, "Look Who's Barking." I don't care what people say. I loved Prue. Why did they have to kill her off? :angry1: Anyway, enough ranting. Time for an update.

I have for you all a new downloadable layout. It is called, "Deadly As Sin." And that's about it. You can find it on the Website Layouts page. Other than that, you should really join the guild. Once we get more members, we can role-play, have discussions, have contests, and have drawings. Sounds like loads of fun, eh? :wink1: Maybe not. Who knows?

I owe so much thanks to Anonymously-Insane for donating this guild to me. I was able to use the gald I saved up to purchase subforums for the guild's forum.

So everything is done. Well, except, I still need to buy another subforum. For contests. I'll get around to that.

Okay, so, what's up with the anti-freewebs sites? I mean, I've been looking around for affiliates and when I get to the rules, some of them say, 'no freewebs websites.' I know I'm not hosted by freewebs anymore, but I WAS and I still ran a pretty decent site, you know?

In fact, I've seen many great freewebs hosted websites such as Arche's beautiful webbie.

Since when did hosts matter? Isn't it the webmaster/mistress and content that counts? I don't find that fair at all.

And, if you run one of those sites that doesn't allow for freewebs hosted affiliates, I don't mean to offend you.

But, I have been offended, hosted by freewebs or not. ):<

Although, I'm not there right now. So, really, there's no point. Anyway, I have some good news. I finally coded a Gaia profile. I feel so stupid. The answer to figuring out the codes was right in front of me. But, anyway, enough self pity and other not fun feelings.

You can find the success here. There is a plentiful amount of flaws, all which I tried my darndest to cover up with more codes.

Do you think, based on this profile that I've linked, that you would like it if I offered gaia profiles, despite minor flaws?

Bringing back my quota. At the bottom it mentioned getting anime tutorials, which I've done, and making gaia layouts, which I'm waiting on feedback to do so. For now, I will be working at this list here. It has been edited a tiny bit.

Here it is in glory and frustration, Moonflame Designs' 15th version, Hana. It was named after one of my favourite KOKIA songs. I'm trying to see if I can get that one in the music box somehow. Anyway..

So, in the future (tomorrow) I predict I will be making previews of graphics that are too large for this here tiny box. Yes, I know it was silly and rather unprofessional to make a box so small for my content, but I like it.

Ha, haha, ahaahaaa.. This coding is so hilarious. It's a riot, really. It's so messy, I don't even know what I was doing. Those little boxes were a pain in the metallic arse to make because the stupid .gif transparency decided to be it stupid head. :angry1: It wouldn't work because I wanted drop shadows. And when I found this awesome script thingy to make rounded corners and dropshadows, I freaked. And then it told me it would only work for Internet Explorer. I don't get it. IE is obviously great, why do people have to use a kajillion of different browsers so I have to make sure my layout doesn't look terrible on them, too (which I'm sure it does, anyway..)? Sorry, I ranted.

Anyway, due to the fact that I'm tired as anything, except for something that isn't tired, I will update with the new stuff I made tomorrow. Yes, you heard correctly, there's already new stuff. And I'm quite proud of one of the new stuffs. :cheer:

Also, I definitely have to do something about the links (not in the boxes to the side, in the main box). The colour is dreadful, but if I change it, it changes the side, too. Hmm, well, that's a problem for another day (tomorrow).

And, well, there you have it. If you can't see, I'll gladly point out that some things on the quota, er, chart(?) have been slashed out. That means I've already done some of it. The corrected amount that I need to complete would be beside it.

You know, I'm really writing this all for my own sake, not yours. My memory is terrible and I will possibly forget all of this. Anyway..

For today, I give you a new signature. Signatures are my favourite graphics to make, I think they turn out nicely and I never stopped liking one of them so far, (knock on wood). I also give you a new welcome sign. I wasn't sure about this sign from the beginning and I'm still not sure about it.. ah well.

So anyway, the quota isn't really to force me to do anything. I like designing, so I guess I should have fun with it. I just think I'm going to need a few more graphics before other sites start taking me seriously.

Well, before I put myself on the spot for not updating in forever, allow me to welcome you all to Moonflame's new location. We've been promoted to a sub domain. I'm extremely happy about this. I would like to thank Nadja, my newest affiliate and now my very kind host, for hosting me. (: I'm trying to get cutenews on these updates so that they won't extend the page down so far, but I need to get an account first. (dumb, I'm so dumb).

Wee, did you see the cute little text counter? I love PHP! It looks so complicated, but it does some cool things. I made sure this counter only appears on the homepage, not any other pages. That'd be cheating. (:

Anyway, ah yes, an excuse for my disappearance? I had graduation, from eighth grade, a surprise party for my Grammie, I had to transfer the site and change the pages all to .php, and I have work from 9:00AM to 5:00PM, babysitting (it's kind of boring). I think they're valid excuses, but I can also place some of the blame on Stephanie Meyer's series, Twilight. I devoured it and it's sequel in five days (that's good for me). Unfortunately, reading those books has given me the largest art block I've experienced. I can't draw, write, or design! (But, I still love those books).

So, for now, there are no graphical updates. I know, I'm a slacker. I'll try tonight, anyway. I plan to have some new goodies for you all later on.

EDIT2: Cutenews is up and running, hopefully flawlessly. If there are any problems, please mention so. I would appreciate the gesture. Oh, and I'm sorry there haven't been any graphical updates (I always brake those promises.. ) I had to run to Branes & Noble, a zillion miles away from my house, to buy Eclipse, the next installment in Stephanie Meyer's great series, and my summer reading books. I'm happy, I even picked up a copy of Shojo Beat. It came with a Vampire Knight poster. :cheer:
